Born in London, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Georgina Campbell Lewis. She was a real estate broker, representative of New York Life Insurance Co., office manager for Pratt Laboratories in Junction City, secretary for the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and assistant in the office of Centre College president Thomas Spragens. A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, she served as chairman and member of the board of the Boyle County chapter, American Red Cross; chairman of Young-Rodes Library Campaign; president of Danville Civic Chorus; and was a member of the board of Danville Country Club and women's golf champion for eight years. She was the widow of Walter B. McMakin and C. Clifford Arends. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John B. Knight of Dalton, Ga. and Mrs. Tom Reigel of Daytona Beach, Fla. and five grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bellevue Cemetery.
