Born Aug. 4, 1918, in Crab Orchard, she was a daughter of the late Ansel and Bertha Ann Singleton Osborne. She was the widow of Johnnie Bryant and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Noah Senior Citizens Choir and the Bible Learners Sunday school class. She had worked as a cook at Danville Cafeteria and also had been an employee of the Coffee Cup Restaurant. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha Ann Finn. Survivors include two sons, John T. Horton of Florence and George McRay Horton of Nicholasville; six daughters, Rena Kay Schulz of Louisville, Sandra Cano Wimberly of Chicago, Judy VanArsdall and Patsy Shepperson, both of Danville, and Charlene Antle and Margaret Schulte, both of Moreland; two children she raised, Katie Chapman Collier of Danville and Marilyn Tharp of Junction City; two sisters, Charlotte Dunsmore of Leesburg, Fla., and Sadie Traylor of New Richmond, Ohio; 46 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and four great-great-great grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gethsemane Baptist Church by the Revs. Clyde Strunk and Mark Payton. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Terry Horton, Andy Horton, David Finn, Glenn Rice, Billy VanArsdale, Troy Antle, Tony Shearer, Mark Sylvie and Maxie Moss. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and her son-in-law, Tony Shearer, and Dr. Finley Hendrickson. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home and 11 a.m. until the service Monday at the church. Memorials may go to Gethsemane Baptist Church or Heritage Hospice.
