Danville Advocate Messenger, 31 May 2002 James Ralph Cress, 85, of Highfield 
Road, died Saturday at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born March 1, 1917, in Whitley City, he was a son of the late Herbert and 
Myrtle Johnson Cress.
He was retired from the heating and air conditioning business and belonged to 
Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Williams Cress; a son, Jim Cress of 
Perryville; two daughters, Betty Shouse of Lawrenceburg and Pat Greer of 
Margate, Fla.; two brothers, Alex Cress of Lexington and Robert Cress of 
Mansfield, Ohio; a sister, Jean Cress of Danville; seven grandchildren; and 
seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be 
in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may go to Lexington Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
