Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. He died Saturday at his home. Born March 1, 1932, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Irene M. League Carter. He was a retired technician for AT&T Information Systems. He had served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of First Christian Church. He was a 1950 graduate of Danville High School and a member of Franklin Lodge 28 F&AM, Ryan Commandry 17, Oleika Temple, Royal Order of Jesters Court 121 and American Legion. He was past president of Wilderness Shrine Club and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Kachina Billiken Klub. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. McBee Carter; two sons, Mike Carter of Lexington and Mac Carter of Danville; a daughter, Mindy Lou Carter of Danville; a brother, Billy Carter of Lexington; and a grandson. Pallbearers will be Clarence Adams, Bob Caswell, Doug Stearman, Terry Owens, Kelly Moore, Wendell Hatfield and John Zippay. Honorary pallbearers are members of Wilderness Shrine Club and Oleika Temple. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home and after noon Wednesday at the church. Masonic rites will be 7 p.m. Tuesday.
