Born Sept. 2, 1928, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Arthur W.and Molly E. Lamb Doss. He was a retired Boyle County deputy sheriff; a former employee of the Stanford Police Department, a former police chief in Junction City and a former truck driver; Survivors include his wife, Audrey Price Doss of Junction City; two sons, Rodney Doss of Stanford and Harvey Doss of Lancaster; a stepson, Jerry Renner of Crab Orchard; a stepdaughter, Barbara Griffin of Danville; four sisters, Minnie Cloyd, Edna Edwards and Lavonne Clark, all of Junction City, and Imogene McKinstrey of Louisville; two brothers, Forrest Doss of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Vincent Doss of Cairo, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jerry Renner, Jamie, Greg and J.P. Doss, David Southerland and Mike Brown. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and members of the Boyle County Sheriff's Department. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today.
