Born Jan. 19, 1928, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Alfred Coulter Ellis and the late Gertrude Overstreet Ellis Butler and reared by Bertie Mae Coffman. He was a retired owner of Bun Boy restaurant and member of Junction City Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Gribbins Ellis; one daughter, Margo Ellis Milburn of Danville; two sisters, Orene Ellis of Birmingham, Ala. and Georgia Lewis of Selma, Ala.; two brothers, Ronnie Ellis of Campbellsville and Billy Ellis of Delaware; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. Ellis. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Reed Reese, David Cochran, Donald Hancock, Lee Pickering, Mike Azbill and Eugene Ellis. Honorary pallbearers are Amy Milburn Al- Mujahid, Rankin Milburn, Matthew Milburn and John Kain Al-Mujahid. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may go to Junction City Baptist Church building fund or Heritage Hospice.
