The Advocate Messenger, Publication Date: 07/15/02 Services for Catherine 
Higgins Hughes, 89, of Jeffersonville, Ind., formerly of Danville, will be 1 p.
m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets, by the Rev. 
Richard Hill. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.
She died Friday at Transitional Health Service of Jeffersonville, Ind.
Born Jan. 20, 1913, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary 
Etta Fields. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of First Baptist 
Church and the senior choir. She was the widow of Henry Higgins and Luther B. 
Hughes.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Rhonda Higgins of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two 
grandsons, Andrew Williams III of Jeffersonville and James E. Snoddy Jr. of 
Louisville; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Helen.
Pallbearers will be church officers.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Smith-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
