Katie Lou Haynes May 23 2002 Boyle-Mercer County KyArchives Obituaries Danville Advocate Messenger, 22 May 2002 Services for Katie Lou Haynes, 95, of Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James AME Church by the Rev. Kenneth Clay. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home. Born March 21, 1906, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Millie Bess McKitrick. She was a member of St. James AME Church, Willing Workers Club, Senior Choir and Stewardess Board. She had been a housekeeper and was a member of Busy Sunshine Club. Survivors include her husband, Olus L. Haynes; and three sisters, Mary E. Marshall of Danville and Ruth Routt and Flora Hopkins, both of Cincinnati. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Payne, David Payne, Omar Marshall, William Marshall Jr., Edwin Payne Jr., Joel Grey and David Routt. Honorary pallbearers are John McKitrick, Gilford McKitrick, Howard Seawright, William Marshall Sr., Paul Withers and Charles Withers. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may go to St. James AME Church, 124 E. Walnut St., Danville 40422. Smith-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
