Born Sept. 21, 1928, in Grant County, he was the son of the late Orville and Zella Ireland Horne. He was a retired employee of Southern Railway, a member of Junction City United Methodist Church, Retired Railway and Veterans Club, and Boyle County Genealogical Association. He was a 1947 graduate of Junction City High School. Survivors include his wife, Helen Schlachter Horne; two sons, Michael D. Horne of Paris and Barry W. Horne of Danville; a brother, James D. Horne of Junction City; and four grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may go to Junction City United Methodist Church.
