"Butch" Leathers, 48, of East Drive will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church by the Revs. Don Benningfield and Barry Harmon. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Cooper, Billy Joe Robinson, Don Sinkhorn, Junie Smith, Carl Edward Leathers, Beve White, Mitch Johnson and Phil Morse. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Optimist Club and the Eagles Sunday School Class. He died Thursday at Pattie A. Clay Hospital, Richmond. Born July 20, 1953, in Danville, he was the son of Carl and Lena Mae Daugherty Leathers of Danville. He was in customer sales at Mathews Operations, FKI Logistics, where he was a member of its United Way committee. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, a member of its Emmaus community and the Eagles Sunday school class. He was sponsor for the church's volunteer and mission team. He was a 1971 graduate of Danville High School and attended Lindsey Wilson College. He was vice president of the Optimist Club and vice president of the Danville-Boyle County Fair Board and the Admission Corporate Sponsors of the fair. He had coached boys basketball in the Recreation League and played on Rexnord's Industrial League softball team. Survivors include his wife, Kaytrina Leathers; a son, Carl Edward Leathers of Richmond; a daughter, Kristina G. Leathers of Danville; two sisters, Martha Smith of Stanford and Becky King of Parksville; and a grandchild. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home.
