Louis Irvine Long, 81, of Beech Street, died Wednesday at Central Baptist 
Hospital in Lexington.

Born Dec. 9, 1919, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Preston 
and Elizabeth Mills Long. He was a retired sergeant with the U.S. Army 
and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a security guard 
for Owens Chevrolet. He belonged to the Salvation Army Church. He was the 
widower of Sara Ann Farmer Long.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Wenger of Fort Knox; a son, 
Jesse Preston Long of Junction City; four grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Capt. 
Paul Gilliam. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
