Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Garland. Burial was in Junction City Cemetery. He died Tuesday at his home. Born Dec. 20, 1928, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Ike and Mattie Lou Wright McCowan. He was a retired employee of Penn Ventilation and a member of Bowen United Methodist Church. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 433. Survivors include his wife, Annie McCowan; three sons, Henry McCowan and Bill McCowan, both of Junction City, and Ike McCowan of Forkland; three daughters, Carol Hair, Mary Hurst and Brenda Cross, all of Junction City; two brothers, Joe McCowan of Stanford and Ike McCowan Jr. of Junction City; a sister, Elizabeth Privett of Junction City; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jessie Howard McCowan. Pallbearers were Anthony, Eddie, Jeff, Bradley and Jason McCowan, and Lanny Coulter. Honorary pallbearers were the men of Penn Ventilation. ______________________________
