Samuel Richard McGINNIS December 18 1894 Mccracken-Boyle County KyArchives Obituaries Paducah Daily News, 18 Dec 1894 Passed From Life Death This Morning of Mr. S. R. McGinnis, the House Contractor. Mr. S. R. McGinnis, whose serious illness the News mentioned yesterday, died this morning at 2:15 o'clock. He never rallied a moment from the paralytic stroke from which he suffered last Friday night, though not until yesterday did his condition become a hopeless one. Dissolution sat in yesterday afternoon and he sank rapidly from that time on. Mr. McGinnis would have been 65 years old had he lived until the 7th of next May. He was born and reared in Boyle county, this state, but for eighteen years had lived in this place, being a house contractor of note. He was a well known citizen and had many friends who will regret his death. A wife and four children, Mrs. R. P. Stanly, Mr. Collin McGinnis and Miss Rosa McGinnis, of this city, and Mrs. Doph, of Chicago, are left to mourn his death. The deceased was a member of Friendship lodge of the Ancient Order of United Workmen and of Champion lodge of Knights of Honor and the latter brotherhood will officiate at his interment, which is to occur at 10 o'clock tomorrow forenoon. Services are to be conducted at the family residence, 522 Broadway, by Rev. M. E. Chappell, of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. J. Howard Carpenter, of the First Baptist church. The interment will be at Oak Grove cemetery. All friends are invited without further notice.
