Tom Farmer. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. She died Thursday in Burlington, N.C. Born Aug. 13, 1923, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James D. and Drucilla E. Yankey. She was a fourth-grade teacher at Julia Ewing Elementary in Lexington and member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church in Mebane, N.C. Survivors include her husband, Dougald M. "Mac" Monroe Jr.; two sons, David L. Monroe of West Hollywood, Calif., and Dougald M. Monroe III of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two daughters, Elizabeth D. Monroe of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Amelia A. Monroe of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three brothers, George Yankey of Louisville, Tom Yankey of Campbellsville, and Billy Yankey of Mackville; a sister, Mary F. Moore of Harrodsburg; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harold Yankey, Pam Cheek, Frank E. Moore, Ann T. Cox, Mike and Tommy Yankey, Tammy May and Alan Yankey. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home.
