Born April 21, 1921, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Crecia Stratton Gritton. She was a former instructor and seamstress at Palm Beach Co., and a member and former Sunday School teacher at Junction City Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Preston; a daughter, Jane G. Preston of Danville; a brother, Maurice Gritton of Danville; and two sisters, Mabel Shewmaker of Harrodsburg and Rosalyn Whitenack of Mercer County. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
