"Jim" Strevels, 74, of Nichols Terrace died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born March 2, 1928, in Parksville, he was a son of the late Hugh and Emma Clark Strevels. He had been an orderly at Ephraim McDowell and was a former employee of the old Kentucky State Hospital. He was an Army veteran and had attended the Church of God. He was the widower of Helen C. Strevels. Survivors include a godson, Robbie Lister of Harrodsburg; a sister, Grace Hammac of Cincinnati; and a brother, Bud Strevels of Perryville. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Heath Stone. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to time of services Monday. Pallbearers will be Charles Lister, John and Mark Strevels, and Ben Brandenburg. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Corbett.
