RALEIGH, N.C. -- Dorothy Batchelor Meekins Streb of Raleigh, N.C., 
formerly of Danville, died Jan. 22 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

She was the niece of the late Mary Quisenberry, who lived in Danville. 

Streb owned Delta Insurance Agency in Raleigh for many years. She 
had been active in the Huguenot Society and United Daughters of the 
Confederacy, and had received the Varina Howell Davis Award from the 
Military Order of the Stars and Bars. She was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include a brother, Edmund L. Meekins of Lexington; and a 
caregiver, Daniel W. Jones of Raleigh.

Services were held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home with burial in 
Plummer Family Cemetery in Warrenton, N.C.
