Born June 18, 1942, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Clint and Ethel Crow Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Paul S. Shannon; a daughter, Darlene Alsman of Mitchellsburg; two sons, Joe and Paul Thomas Shannon, both of Danville; a stepdaughter, Maggie Shannon of Junction City; five sisters, Frances Hafley of Indiana, Katherine Girtley, Marie Mills and Louise Rourk, all of Frankfort, and Shirley Griggs of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Lester and Clarence Cook, both of Frankfort, and Frank Cook of Indiana; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilder Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elder Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday.
