Keith Mayes Sr. Burial will be in Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Parksville. She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 17, 1945, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late George and Mae Helen Brand. She was a former employee of University of Cincinnati and a member of St. James AME Church where she was on the Steward and Trustee Board and Pastor's Aid Society. Survivors include her husband, Coleman Simpson Jr.; two daughters, Evelyn Hall and Anna Houston, both of Danville; a stepdaughter, Arnetta Simpson of Danville; a son, Coleman E. Simpson of Danville; a stepson, Orlando Simpson of Danville; a brother, George H. Brand of Danville; three sisters, Ella Scott, Picciola Scott and Susie Beamon, all of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Simpson, Shawn and Tony Napier, Mack Cloud, James Houston and Coleman Singleton. Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Smith-Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
