Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Dean and Nina Diamond Smith. He was a past master of Lincoln Masonic Lodge No. 60 F&AM, a member of Lincoln Chapter No. 486 Order of the Eastern Star, Lexington Scottish Rite, a Kentucky Colonel, former District Deputy for Grand Lodge No. 21, York Rite, Gideons International and the Somerset Odd Fellows Lodge No. 238. He was a U.S. Air Force sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 44 years in the propane bottled gas business and was a member of the Somerset Baptist Temple. Survivors include a son, Henry "Hank" Smith II of Berglangenbach, Germany; two daughters, Cindy Fields of Nicholasville and Sherry Carrender of Burnside; one stepdaughter, Gail Gastineau of Stanford; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Palm Bay, Fla., and Charles Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Kathleen Sassman of Delavin, Ill., and Ellen Lawson of Covington; three grandchildren; two step-grand- children; and two step great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Somerset Baptist Temple by David Carr. Burial will be at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg with military rites by Caswell-Saufley Post No. 18 of the American Legion and Masonic Rites by Lincoln Lodge No. 60. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at Somerset Baptist Temple. Scottish Rites Rose Croix services are 7:30 tonight at the church. Pallbearers are members of Lincoln Lodge No. 60 F&AM. Arrangements are by Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home. ______________________________
