"Jimmy" Smith, 62, of Crawford Lane will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Willow Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Jerry Browning and Dale Denton. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. He died Monday at his home. Born Oct. 28, 1939, in Garrard County, he was the son of Harman P. Smith of Stanford and the late Alice Peace Smith. He was a machine operator for Square D Co. in Lexington, a charter member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, and a member of Cedar Creek Sportsman Club. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Gifford Smith; four sons, Greg Smith, Roy Smith, Todd Smith and Tim Smith, all of Stanford; a daughter, Angela Ray of Stanford; a brother, John T. Smith of Stanford; a sister, Nancy Boone of Stanford; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grand- daughter. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Pallbearers will be Roy Cain, Bob Pass, Mike Smith, Byron Crawford, Bill Priddy, Roy Bertram, Buckwheat Gilbert and Roy Gander. Honorary pallbearers are Teresa Lett, Mike S. Smith, Leroy Boone Jr. and Mark Young. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the church. Memorials may go to Cedar Creek Sportman Club, P.O. Box 352, Stanford 40584. Spurlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
