Born April 20, 1940, in Ava, Ill., he was the son of the late Murray A. and Kathryn Virginia Wilson Vancil. He was a Navy veteran and retired truck driver for Leggett-Platt in Nicholasville. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Vancil of Ava; four sons, Richard and Eric Vancil, both of Springfield, Mo., Adam Vancil of Anaheim, Calif., and Larry Ledford of East Peoria, Ill.; two daughters, Michelle Vancil of Austin, Texas, and Genny Vancil of Cutler, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Weavers of Greenville, Ill.; four brothers, Glen and Jack Vancil, both of Ava, Dan Vancil of Marietta, Ga., and Robert Vancil of Gilbert, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. today by the Rev. Keith Tingle at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. Memorials may go to the American Diabetes Association. ______________________________
