VanArsdall, 66, of Gose Pike, Danville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Revs. Gerald Payne and David Collier. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites. He died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington. Born April 11, 1935, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late George W. and Alice Devine VanArsdall. He was self-employed, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and a member of American Legion Post 52 and Gethsemane Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Esther Payne VanArsdall; a son, John W. VanArsdall of Andalusia, Ala.; a brother, George VanArsdall of Danville; a sister, Bessie Coffman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Bobby Payne, Steve Irvin, Donnie Coffman, Victor VanArsdall, Mike Curtis and Kevin Blankford. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Hopper, Raymond Payne, Dalton Irvin, Leo Conley, Jimmy Adkins, Phillip Payne, Todd May and Donald Sallee. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Saturday.
