Born April 24, 1922, in Mitchellsburg, he was a son of the late William T. and Mary Florence Greer Vermillion. He was a retired lineman for Asplundh Tree Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Boyle Post No. 46 and The Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Liberty. Survivors include his wife, Hester Hale Vermillion; two daughters, Connie V. Stevens of Alum Springs and Karen V. Caddell of Junction City; a sister, Evelyn Mae Betts of Danville; and five grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by Marvin Lane and Paul Williams. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday. Memorials may go to Church of the First Born, Liberty; Heritage Hospice; or the Alzheimer's Research at Sanders Brown Center for Aging. Pallbearers will be Aaron Brock, Ralph Flora, Bobby Gresham, Dennis Harris, Darin Lane, Marvin Lane Jr. and Bill Flora. Honorary pallbearers are John Caddell, Garry Stevens, Brad Brock, Shawn Stevens, Matthew Caddell, Jeremy Stevens, Savannah Caddell and Dylan Caddell.
