Born Sept. 26, 1921, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Butler Daniel and Viola Frances Hedges Phillips. She was the widow of James Martin Watkins. She was a homemaker, a self-employed seamstress, a graduate of McAfee High School and a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jean W. Boswell of Danville; a son, Jerry B. Watkins of Hustonville; two sisters, Katherine Samples of Danville and Mary Frances Gibson of Harrodsburg; a brother, Wesley Phillips of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
