Born Aug. 23, 1922, in Owensboro, he was the son of the late Ezra and Thelma O'Bannon Wilson. He was a superintendent for Jackson Chair Co. for 35 years and after his retirement became a self-employed furniture maker. He was a member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church in Owensboro and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served as private first class and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He also was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Glover Wilson; two sons, Donald W. Wilson and John D. Wilson, both of Danville; two daughters, Jefferi L. Murphy of Liberty and Sharon K. "Sissie" Collier of Madison, Ind.; a brother, Charles Wilson of Owensboro; two sisters, Nina Midkiff and Amanda Clark, both of Owensboro; eight grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today. Memorials may go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
