Born June 24, 1912, in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Claude Gillespie and Emma K. Gillespie Hamlin. She was a homemaker and volunteer for the American Red Cross. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Kohler of Danville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bellevue Cemetery by Dr. Thomas K. Farmer. Memorials may go to charity. Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
