Thompson of the County of Bracken and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth That the Said Jno. Alexander Sen. and Jennet his wife, Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, William Hollis and Martha his wife, and Elizabeth Alexander for and in consideration of the Sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do acknowledge have granted, bargained, Sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, Sell, alien and confirm unto the Said John H. Thompson, his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land, lying and being in the County of Bracken, situate on the waters of Locust Creek, bounded and described as follows To wit, Beginning at a Stone in Tabbs line, thence with said line S. 8½° W. one hundred and thirteen and a half poles to a Lynn, thence S. 89° W. Twenty Seven and a half poles crossing the mill pond to a beech on the West bank, thence down the Same together with the mill race to a Stone near the mill house, S. 72° E. three poles to a Stone, thence N. 17° West fifteen poles to a Stone, thence N. 59° East nineteen poles to the Beginning, containing thirteen acres be the Same more or less, together with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed, with all and Singular the premises unto the Said John H. Thompson his heirs and assigns forever. And the Said John Alexander and Jennet his wife and the Said Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, and the Said William Hollis and Martha his wife, and the said Elizabeth Alexander, and their heirs, Ex'ors and Adm's do covenant, promise and agree, to and with the Said John H. Thompson his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned, now are and forever hereafter Shall remain free of and from all former gifts, grants, bargains, Sales, dower right, and title of dower, judgments and incumbrances whatsoever done, or suffered to be done by them or either of them and the Said Jno. Alexander Sen. and Jennet his wife, the Said Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, the said William Hollis and Martha his wife, and the said Elizabeth Alexander and their heirs, all and Singular the premises hereby bargained and Sold with the appurtenances unto the Said John H. Thompson his heirs and assigns against them the said John Alexander Sen. and Jennet his wife, the Said Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, the Said William Hollis and Martha his wife, and the Said Elizabeth Alexander and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof they the Said John Alexander Sen. and Jennet his wife, and Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, and William Hollis and Martha his wife, and Elizabeth Alexander, have hereunto Set their hands and affixed seals the day and year first above written. Alexander Sen. and Andrew Alexander personally came before me the Subscriber an acting Justice of the peace in and for Said County and acknowledged the Signing, Sealing and delivering of the within deed to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also at the same time came Jennet, wife of the Said John Alexander Sen. and Agness, wife of the Said Andrew Alexander, who being made acquainted with the contents of Said conveyance, and being by me examined, Separate and apart from their Said husbands, acknowledged the within deed of conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, and that She executed the Same without the threats, coercion or persuasion of her Said husband and freely relinquished her right of dower to the premises within mentioned and desired that the same may be admitted to record. Given under my hand and Seal this twelfth day of March A.D. 1829. Francis Alexander, Justice of the Peace (Seal) Bracken County, Sct. Personally appeared before the Subscribers two of the Justices of the peace for Said County Martha Hollis the wife of William Hollis one of the grantors in the within deed to John H. Thompson, and having examined her Separate and apart from her Said husband, and having explained to her the purport of the Said deed, after reading the Same She relinquished her right of inheritance in the estate conveyed by the Said deed and She declared that She did the Same without the persuasions or threats of her Said husband, and that she was willing the same should be recorded as such. Given under our hands this 16th day of March in the year of our Lord 1829. Chas. Anderson John Burkett Bracken County, March 17th 1829. This deed of bargain and Sale from Jno. Alexander and Jennet his wife, Andrew Alexander and Agness his wife, William Hollis and Martha his wife and Elizabeth Alexander to Jno. H.
