Between Samuel Byland and Mary his wife, of the one part and William and Gabriel Alexander of the other part (all of the State of Kentucky and County of Bracken). Witnesseth that the said Samuel Byland and Mary his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Eighteen hundred and fifty Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained Sold, and by these presents doth bargain Sell and deliver unto the said William and Gabriel Alexander their heirs and Assigns forever A Certain tract or parcel of Land Situate Lying and being in the county and state aforesaid, on the waters of Locust Creek containing Ninety Seven and a half acres, Bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at Boyces corner in Tabbs line at a white oak and hickeroy from thence West One hundred and Seventy nine and two third poles to Greggs last corner a white oak and Black oak marked A. G. Thence North Ninety Six poles to white Oak and Black Oak in Donovans line thence East Sixty two and two third poles to a stake thence South fifty nine degrees East Fifty Seven Poles to a stake Thence North Sixty two Degrees East Seventy one poles to two hickeroys thence South to the Beginning, together with all its appertainances. To have and to hold the same and every part thereof to the only use and benefit of they aforesaid William and Gabriel Alexander their heirs and assigns forever and they said named Samuel Byland and Mary his wife for them selves their heirs &c doth covenant warrant and forever defend the aforesaid tract of Land from the claim or claims of all and every person or person whatsoever. In Witness Whereof the above named Samuel Byland and Mary his wife hath herewith set their hands and seals, the Day and year above mentioned. This day personally came before us the Subscribers two of the commonwealth Justices of the peace for Said County Mary Byland wife to the above named Samuel Byland and being by us examined Separate and apart from her Said husband she doth freely and willingly relinquish her right of dower to the above described land without being forced into measures by her Said husband or otherwise and willing the same may be recorded as Such. Given under our hands this 19th day of December 1818. William Field (Seal) Robert Walton (Seal) Bracken County June 7th 1819 This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Samuel Byland and Mary his wife to William and Gabriel Alexander was this day proven by William Field and Robert Walton Subscribing witnesses thereto. Also the said Field and Walton took the ack'dt. of Mary Byland of which they annexed a certificate to said Deed Purporting the same. Given under my hand as Deputy Clerk of aforesaid court.
