Beginning at a Stone in Tabbs line, thence with Said line South 8½° West 113½ poles to a Lynn, thence South 89 W. 27½ poles crossing the mill pond to a beech on the West bank thence down the Same together with the mill race to a Stone near the mill house, thence South 72° E. 3 poles to a Stone, thence North 17° West 10 poles to a Stone thence N. 69° E. 19 poles to the Beginning, being part of a Survey No. [blank] made for [blank] and left John Alexander, Andrew Alexander, Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife, William Hollis and Martha his wife, Margaret Alexander, Samuel Masters and Elizabeth his wife, James S. Weems and Eliza his wife his legal heirs and representatives, and whereas the Said Margaret Alexander for a valuable consideration relinquished her interest in Said Estate to the other heirs, by virtue of which relinquishment each of the other heirs became entitled to the undivided one Sixth part and whereas the Said Samuel and Dorcas his wife have Sold the Same unto William Hollis and wishes to convey. Therefore This Indenture made this 29th day of August in the year 1828 between the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife of the County of Brown and State of Ohio of the one part, and William Hollis of the County of Bracken and State of Kentucky of the other part, Witnesseth that the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said William Hollis, the receipt whereof they the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and Sold, aliened and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and Sell, alien and confirm unto the Said William Hollis his heirs, Ex'ors and Adm's forever a certain tract of parcel of land being the undivided Sixth part of the before mentioned tract of land and premises together with all and Singular the privileges, advantages and emoluments thereunto belonging or therefrom arising. To have and to hold the Said Estate hereby conveyed to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him the Said William Hollis his heirs Ex'ors and Adm's forever. And the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife, for themselves, their heirs Ex'ors and Adm's doth covenant and agree with the Said William Hollis his heirs, Ex'ors and Adm's that the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife have in Said Land a good Estate of inheritance with full and complete power and authority to Sell and convey the Same in fee Simple, that the Same is now free and clear of all incumbrance whatever and that the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife will warrant and forever defend the title and possession of the Same to him the Said William Hollis his heirs Ex'ors and Adm's free and clear of and from the legal claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the Said Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife have hereunto Set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written. Samuel Pilson (L. S.) Dorcas Pilson (L. S.) Signed, Sealed and ack'd. in presence of us James Moore Samuel Glaze State of Ohio Brown County, Sct. Personally appeared before the Subscribers Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife the Grantors in the within deed to William Hollis who Severally acknowledged the within Signing and Sealing to be their voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also the Said Dorcas wife to the Said Samuel Pilson being privately examined Separate and apart from her Said husband freely and voluntarily without persuasion or compulsion of the Said husband relinquished her right of dower and inheritance to the premises within conveyed. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and Seals this 20th day of August 1828. James Moore J. P. (L.S.) Samuel Glaze Justice of the Peace The State of Ohio Brown County Sct. I John H. Shepherd deputy for William Shepherd Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas within and for the County aforesaid, do hereby certify that James Moore and Samuel Glaze Esquires before whom the foregoing acknowledgement of Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife was taken and who have certified the Same under their own proper Signatures, now are and were at the time of taking the Same two of the acting Justices of the peace within and for the County aforesaid duly commissioned and qualified and that full faith and credit are due to all their official acts as Such as well in all courts of Justice as thereout. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Seal of Said Court at Georgetown this 21st day of August A.D. 1828. John H. Shepherd, deputy for William Shepherd Clerk Brown Common Pleas Bracken County, February 6th, 1829 This deed of bargain and Sale from Samuel Pilson and Dorcas his wife to William Hollis was this day received in my office together with the certificates of authentication thereon endorsed and ordered to be recorded, which is duly done.
