The above named soldier was residing in Bracken County, Ky. when he applied for pension in October 1820, age 64. He stated that he was born in Stafford County, Va. on Feb. 10, 1758. He stated that he resided prior to the Revolution in Loudon Co., Virginia and Stafford Co., Virginia. Since the war he has resided in Btacken Co., Ky. The children of this soldier were: Sarah Franklin age 8, Benjamin Franklin, aged 6, Julia Franklin age 4. The widow of said soldier, Elizabeth Franklin, filed her claim for widow's pension on Sept. 21, 1838, while she was a resident of Hancock Co., Indiana. She states that she and Joseph Franklin had been married in Stafford Co., Va. on Dec. 27, 1788.
