The above named soldier was a resident of Bracken Co., Kentucky on Sept. 19, 1833, age 74. He state he volunteered as a militiaman in Frederick, Maryland under Capt. Ralph Hillery for nine months. He died not recollect his lieutenant. Major Montjoy Bailey commanded the Battalion and they were marched to Nolans Ferry on the Potomac River where they took charge of a number of prisoners and returned to Frederick with the prisoners and statyed there on guard until his nine months were up. There were six companies stationed at Frederick. He knows of no one whom he can prove his service except Joseph Madin, who lived in Fleming Co., Ky. The above soldier states that he was born in Pennsylvania in Philadelphia County in 1757. He was living in Frederick County, Maryland when he removed to the state of Kentucky. Joseph Madin, age 75, made affidavit in Fleming Co., Ky. on May 9, 1833 and stated that in the year 1781 in the month of APril he knew Aaron Kendall, who is now present and about the age of this himself, and knew him in Maryland, and knew that he joined the Revolutionary War under Col. Thomas at Fredericktown in Maryland April 1, 1871 and continued for nine months. This person states that he served personally with in the same regiment and company with said Aaron Kendall in the Revolutionary War. A letter in the files frpm Augusta, Ky. 1854to the Pension Department, states as follows: Dear Sir: Sometime since I wrote you in relation to the claim of the children of Aaron Kendall, a pensioner, and the claim of the children of Aaron Kendall, a pensioner, and you said that I must furnigh you with information of his marriage. He married in Frederick Co., Md. Nov. 6, 1798 and died April 2, 1841, leaving a widow who died april 9, 1849. She being the same woman to whom he was married in 1798.
