News/ March, 1915 The price of electric current has been raised in the city of Augusta from eight to ten cents per kilowat. James Robert SELLERS died at his home at Augusta, Tuesday afternoon, March 2nd, aged 47, from nephritis. Mrs. George KELSCH, Sr., aged about 58 years, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington on February 27th. Philip SCHWENDENECK, aged 42, a former resident of this county; died at his home near Flemingsburg last Saturday. Ennis WOOD, 24, and Miss Maggie WORKMAN, 17, both of Powersville, were married this Sunday at the residence of T.W. Cummins by Rev. Cook. Rev. Marion PFANSTElL went to Falmouth Monday and was accompanied home by his wife's sister, Mrs. Ollie MCGILL, and her mother, Mrs. MULLINS of Demossville, who are their guests. The following appeared in the Cincinnati Enquirer of Sunday, February 28; Sherley B. Thackston THACKSTON, 22, of Bracken Co. , and Miss Beatrice SIMPSON of Pendleton county, were united in marriage at Newport yesterday. Augusta's "Moonlight School" is progressing most favorably. 7 adults attending two nights each week, Tuesday and Thursday, there being seven teachers engaged in work, one for each pupil. It is said that most satisfactory results are being obtained. George W. MAINS, aged about 40 years, died at his home at Bethel, O., Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27th, at 4 o'clock, the direct cause of his death being consumption of the bowels. Deceased was a native of Augusta, living here until about 15 years ago. Harry BROOKING, aged 23 years, and Miss Corinne ARN, aged 18, were united in marriage on Saturday, February 27th, Squire J.B. Slack performing the ceremony at his home. The bride is the pretty and attractive daughter of George Arn and wife, while the groom is a son of Wm. Brooking and wife, of Carntown. Last Friday, John STAIRS, living between Johnsville and Wellsburg, sold about 50 acres of his farm to the highest bidder; 46 acres of land sold was hill land, bringing $39 per acre, the purchaser being William COTTY of Powersville, while A.D. WILSON gave $450 for about four acres of level ground which adjoins his place just below Wellsburg. Stanton HAMILTON, aged 63 years, one of our well known citizens died at his home at Brooksville at 5 o'clock, Friday ____ing, February 26, as a result of an attack of pneumonia, after a short illness. His brother, Frank Hamilton, died just one week previous, death being caused from the same disease. Deceased was twice married.
