The "Blakeman Family Cemetery" was first consecrated with The burial of my mother, Emily E. (McQueary) Blakeman in December of 1999. My father was recently laid to rest in it in June of 2001. Hugo Joseph Blakeman, born Chicago IL November 3, 1932 - died July 8, 2001 Emily Elvira McQueary-Blakeman, born Chicago IL April 10, 1936 - died December 26, 1999 At present they are the only souls laid to rest there. The cememtery is located on a PRIVATE fork of "Basham Island Road" in Breckinridge county, KY. Coming from Harned, you take Freedom Church Road from US 60 east of Hardinsburg, then onto KY 261 east about 2 miles then onto Basham Island Rd. When the road comes to a fork at the home of Carolyn Allen, you take the right fork to the bottom of the hollow where another fork occurs. The right fork is a private road from Basham Island road and goes back 1 to 1.5 miles to the present home of Randy W. Blakeman where the cemetary is located. Permission needs to be asked BEFORE visiting this cemetery.
