This week had an invitation to a quilting at Mr. John -. –vells the 18th but the weather was bad and Mr. Moorman from home consequently I thought proper not to go to the quilting Wm Stocton went and they had a dance and the returned about midnight in company with John G. Wingfield. I heard some news from Bedford and from Wm Tate C. C. P. and – Saturday rote a letter to Tate and today rote one to Brother William Kasey Jr to day at home some girls passed here when it was rainy snowing and hailing and a Mr. Martin called for ˝ pint but I refused to let him have it so he went on Richard Gregory wanted a dram but I would not let him have any spirits as it was Sunday. Sunday 24th, Snow, nothing of note took place this week.
