April 12th 1836  Moorman left for Richmond last Wednesday.  Thursday Hung and 
Finch loaded and started to Richmond Saturday Wm went to Muslin Saturday did 
not return till Sunday Recived 2 letters from C. C. Peters and 1 from John G. 
Wingfield which game me s---- faction they were well Monday  Stockton went to 
the Election to Henry came home in the evening  Martin was elected to day had 
some ground plowed up for to plant potatoes and extended to plow up a clover 
lot to put in corn but B. Marshall forbid it saying that he did not rent the 
lot to be tended but gave him the privilige to sow it in clover wanted to 
commence prising to day but tobacco was too dry.  Ann Finny to see us since 
Sunday  Mrs Finny to see us today 
Saturday April 17th nothing new this week Major Nortin elected in hurry by 11 
votes several persons passing this week Sales small put a hogshead ---   ---- 
this week not finished get William from home to night to his Fathers he’s not 
well Shoemate afraid Some hogs for Moorman today finished planting potatoe and 
planted some corn to day this week rote a letter to 837d02d J. H40t on matters 
and things
