Sunday May 1st  1836

Clear and warm weather today nothing new am well though tired from opening 
goods last night  A. H. M. had 2 waggon loads of goods to hand the commenced 
opening about dark and continued to open till 3 oclock A.M. which was Sunday 
and then we commenced opening Sunday morning a business that I never did 
before and which was sorely against my will but rather than have any hard 
thoughts with my employer I continued to open till sundown when we got through 
opening what goods we had to hand the stock of goods are tolerable large and 
of good quality and are priced as low as they can be afforded to be sold to 
night have to make my entrys of Saturdays sales and todays sales I expect this

6210 f40 .94. p03c2-  I feel very lonesome as to company of such people as I 
desire to be with and converce about matters and things that I was settled in 
life on some permanent place to live while I do live turn over to see what I 
have bought
