Henry Hardaway to see us. Went to meeting Sunday to Big Spring then is (??) home and dined at Ab--- MCance and thence home and on to Aunt Hanah’s Sunday wearing (??0. It has been fa---- for some few day and a good shower of Rain would be of service at hardensurg last county. July 30th all well. Last Sabath Day the Reverend James Taylor preached Mothers funeral at the Big Spring. ---- 1st Chapter Nahum and 7 and 7th verces. A very fine sermon and a large congregation and a very attentive audience this week rote a letter to Co. Thos. Kasey and one to Anthony Rucker finish today getting up grain an elegant crop of oats. I suppose 7,000 bushels and about 50 bushels wheat. Charles R Noell starts to Va this week nothing more of note at Edw. Hardaways last Sunday. August 17th all well since my last nots been to campmeeting at friendship held by the Cumberland Presbyterians. An indeffereant meeting at Sashwell Jordan and so on home. People sickly with the bilious fever. Wm Morgans family very sick. 3 confirmed at this time. Thos and James and Mary a black girl. William Morgan died the 25th.
