MURRAY'S family, you will please publish in your next issue of "The News" how often Col. MURRAY was married, how many children he had, and their names and ages respectively, and oblige. Signed by: M. F. WEDDING Col. (David Rodman) MURRAY was married three times. His first wife was Sarah ALEXANDER, of Georgetown, Scott County, Kentucky. By her he had one child. The mother and child died about the same time, and were buried in one grave at Hardinsburg. Among his papers, after his death, was found this touching allusion to the dead pair: "I buried her, with her babe upon her bosom in the graveyard at Hardinsburg, and above her have laid a stone with an inscription, trusting that the beholder may drop a tear upon her grave". His second wife was Eliza HOUSTON, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret HOUSTON of Hardinsburg, and niece of the late Jos. ALLEN. By her he had the following children: MARGARET MURRAY, afterwards Mrs. Dr. SCOTT, died in 1877. JANE MURRAY, now the wife of Mr. James L. FAIRLEIGH, of Brandenburg (Meade County, Kentucky), aged between 50 and 60. MARY E. MURRAY, now the wife of the Hon. F. C. (Franklin C.) JOHNSON, of New Albany, (Floyd County), Indiana, aged about 50. CHARLES J. MURRAY, died in 1853 JOSEPHINE MURRAY, died in childhood His third wife was Mrs. Anna Maria CRITTENDEN, (widow of Henry CRITTENDEN, brother of the late Hon. John J. CRITTENDEN) of Shelby County. By her he had: DAVID R. MURRAY, who died at six years of age, and was the first born. JOHN ALLEN MURRAY, aged 43 ELI H. MURRAY, aged 41 LOGAN C. MURRAY, aged 38 DAVID R. MURRAY, the last born, aged 35. To her first husband, Mrs. MURRAY bore several children, among them: THOMAS T. CRITTENDEN, the present Governor of Missouri HENRY and EDWARD S. CRITTENDEN, who died and were buried here. WILL L. CRITTENDEN, who was murdered by the Spaniards in 1851 during the Lopez Insurrection in Cuba, in which he was a gallant participant. JOHN ALLEN CRITTENDEN, who is a resident of Frankfort. Of her children by Col. MURRAY: JOHN ALLEN MURRAY has served his state in the legislature and on the criminal court bench, and is distinguished for his legal abilities. ELI H. MURRAY was a brigadier-general in the Union Army during the War of the Rebellion, and is the present Governor of the Territory of Utah. DAVID R. MURRAY, has served in the state senate, and is a lawyer of acknowledged ability.
