B. BALL Joseph Bertel "J.B." Ball, age 83, died Saturday, March 2,1996,athis home in Irvington. Born November 27, 1912, in Nelson County, Mr. Ball was a son of the late William Francis Ball and Sophia Hall Ball. Hewasaretired construction worker, a farmer, and a member of the Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Katherine Ball, in 1991. Survivors include six daughters, Juanita Fogle, Owensboro, Helen Jean Fogle, and Sheila Frank, both Irvington, Joyce Henning, Fairdale, Ketty Weber, Evansville, IN, and Polly Trent, Lemoant, EL; two sons, Wayne Ball, Louisville, and Billy Ball, Irvington; two sisters, Helen Rogers and Ruth Greenwell; two brothers, William Francis BaU Jr., and John Wetzel Ball; 21 grandchil- dren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 12 noon Tuesday, March 5 from Holy Guardian Angel Church in Irvington, with Fr. Carl McCarthy, Officiating. Burial was in Mount Merino Cemetery under the direc- tion of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington. The family requests ex- pressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to Hos- pice of Central Kentucky. Pallbear- ers were Todd Fogle, Brian Henning, Kari Ball, Michael Weber, Joey Ball and Matthew Weber. RAYMOND L. BOONE Raymond Lee Boone, age 31, of Cloverport, died Monday, March 4, 1996, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. Born July 17,1964, in Hardinsburg, he was the son of the late Joe Boone and Agnes Leona Sturgeon Boone. He was a graduate of Frederick Fraize High School, was a member of the Cloverport Volunteer Fire Depart- ment and the Cloverport Baptist Church. Surviving are four sisters. Sue Lieggi, Elizabethtown, Shirley Boone, Debbie Shell and Rose Waddell, Cloverport; four brothers, Larry Boone and Robert Boone, Cloverport, Roy Boone and Bill Boone, Elizabethtown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport, with the Revs. Darryl Crenshaw and Ton Mattingly offi- ciating. Burial will be in Cloverport Cemetery. PIERCE NEWTON Pierce Newton, 77-year-old Guston resident, died Tuesday, Feb- ruary 27,1996, in Charlestown, IN, following a lengthy illness. Born in Breckinridge County on May 30, 1918, Mr. Newton was a son of the late Richard Alvin Newton and Ina Peak Newton. He was retired from the Air Force having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Walnut Grove Bap- tist Church, the Irvington Masonic Lodge #868, and had been a trader for the past 25 years. His wife, Mrs. Alliene Newton, preceded him in death in 1985. Survivors are two daughters, Diane Sallie, Floyds Knob, IN, and Marilyn MacGregor, Fort Worth, TX; two sons. Pierce A. Newton, Norman, OK, and Roger E. New- ton, Midwest City, OK; four sisters, Louise Kendall and Reba Decker, Guston, Rosie Dowell and Eliza- beth Thompson, Irvington; three brothers, Ike Newton, LebanonJunc- tion, Buck Newton, AL, and Lovell Newton, Irvington; seven grandchil- dren, and six great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1 at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, in charge of arrangements. Pall- bearers were the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Masonic services were held Thursday night by the Irvington Masonic Lodge #868 at the funeral home. HOBSON KEESEE Hobson Keesee, age 78, of Hudson, died Friday, March l, 1996, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. He was bom July 7, 1917, in Hardin County, the son of John Thomas and Lona LeGrand Keesee. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife Addie; two sons Randy Keesee and Gary Keesee, both of Louisville; two step- sons, Jack Goodman and Charles Goodman both of Louisville; two daughters, Janice Ferudenberger and Jewell Sanders, both of Louisville; one step-daughter, Juanita Basham, Greenville; one brother, Herbert Keesee, Louisville; three sisters, Earlene Alien, Hudson, Ilene Gre- gory, Leitchfield, and Catherine Jaggers, Louisville; 11 grandchil- dren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Watkins Funeral Home in Leitchfield, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Bro. Ronnie Keesee officiated the ser- vice. RICKIE L. WEEDMAN Rickie L. Weedman, age 41, of Leitchfield, formerly of Breckin- ridge County, died Sunday, March 3, 1996,at his residence. Bom March 6, 1954, in Kentucky, be was the son of the late James Weedman, and Mrs. Dorothy Goatley of Hardins- burg. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Shelia Weedman; his mother, Mrs. Dor- othy Goatley; a stepson, Keith Alien Freeman, Leitchfield; two sisters, Jane Weedman and Nita Murriell, both of Louisville; and three grand- children. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Cloverport Cemetery with the Rev. Darryl Crenshaw officiating. Wallace Funeral Home, Cloverport, was in charge of arrangements. Pall- bearers were John Hughes, Jim Clark, Roscoe Hack, Bruce Belcher, Andy Lasley and William Thomas Willis. MRS. WINONA LANE Mrs.Winona"Winnie"Lane, age 61, of Owensboro, died Friday, March 1, 1996, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Born in Cloverport on October 22, 1934, Mrs. Lane was the daughter of the late Louis R. Henderson. She was a retired clerk/ typist for the Fanners Home Ad- ministration after 21 years of ser- vice, and was a member of the Owensboro Church of Christ Surviving are her husband, Wallace J. "Buddy" Lane; mother, Mrs. Ernestine J. Henderson, Masonville; a daughter, Linda Hendricks, Owensboro; a son, John Darrell Flake, Utica; three step- daughters, Vicki Bezeczek, Donna Rae Hunter, and Patti Whiddon, all of Texas; a stepson, Ronald Lane, Texas; four grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, from Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport, with the Rev. Dwight Fuqua officiating. Burial was in the Cloverport Cem- etery. MRS. CLARA WILSON Mrs. Clara Wilson, age 91, of Irvington, died Thursday, February 29,1996, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg, following a lengthy illness. Born August 25, 1904, in Breckinridge County, Mis. Wilson was a daughter of the late and a member of the Irvington United Methodist Church. Her husband, Dave B. Wilson, preceded her in death in 1982. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Wilson Hall, Irvington; four sons, Pellham Jennings, "P.J." Wilson. Louisville, David W. "Bud" Wil- son, Owensboro, Shirley D. Wilson, and Paul A. Wilson, both Irvington; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great- grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sun- day, March 3, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, with the Rev. David Lile, officiat- ing. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cem- etery. Pallbearers were Bruce, Barry, Kent, Jerry and Dean Wilson, and David Hall DANIEL L. SHEERAN Daniel L. Sheeran, age 82, of Coral Gables, FL, formerly of Breckin- ridge County, died Tuesday, Febru ary 27, 1996, at Coral Gables. Born in Breckinridge County. Mr. Sheeran was the son of the late Dennis and Elizabeth Coomes Sheeran. He was. retired from immigration services in Coral Gables. A daughter, Julia Morris, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eliza- beth Sheeran; three daughters, Marita Klosterman, Los Angeles, CA, Margaret Manteuffel, Vienna, VA, and Kathy Sheeran, Coral Gables; two sisters, Edna K. Sbeeran, Hardinsburg, and Sister Helen Frances Sbeeran, SCN Nazareth Home, Louisville, and seven grand- children. The body was cremated. A me- morial service will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Har- dinsburg, at a later date. Trent- Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, was in charge of local arrangements. JOSEPH R. FLAHERTY Joseph R. Flaherty, age72, passed away at Jewish Hospital on Satur- day, February 17, 1996, after a short illness. Surviving are his wife, Marie Sipes Flaherty; three daughters, Rose Marie Abell.Darlene O'Flaherty and Dianne Flaherty, four sons, Randall, James M., Francis J., and Kenneth Flaherty; sisters, Mary Ray, Alberta Curl, Josephine Shelman, Anita Dempler and Mattie Martin; broth- ers, Charles and John Flaherty; 10 grandchildren and two great-grand- children. Funeral services were held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Louis- ville. Burial was in Calvary Cem- etery. Arrangements were handled by Ratterman Funeral Home on Bardstown Road, Louisville. MRS. ELEANOR J. POCIUS Mrs. Eleanor Jean Pocius, age 71, died Sunday. February 25, 1996, at her home in Vine Grove. Born in Louisville, Mrs. Pocius was the daughter of the late Benjamin Everett and Reba Walls Maxwell. She was a retired switchboard operator at the Gait House in Louisville. Survivors are a daughter, Cheryl Whitworth, Custer, a son, Benny Haycraft, Brandenburg; five grand- children, and six great-grandchil- dren. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1 from Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Har- dinsburg, with burial in New Bethel Cemetery. MARCH 13, 1996 MS. JOEICE E. NORTON Ms. Joeice Elaine Norton, age 78, of Hardinsburg, died Thursday, March 7, 1996, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. Born in Breckinridge County, Ms. Norton was a daughter of the late Asia and Lucy Kennedy Norton. She was a retired waitress and cashier and a member of the Hardinsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, James Kenneth Robinson and Ralph Duel Robinson, both of Florida, seven grandchildren and 15 greaqt-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in the Horsley Chapel Cemetery near Hardinsburg. MRS. JEANNIE GALLOWAY Mrs. Jeannie Galloway, age 55, died Sunday, March 10, 1996, at her home in Westview. Born in Breckinridge County, she was the daughter of the late Dudley and Bessie Dolpher Haynes. She was an inspector for Vermont American. A brother, Leonard Haynes, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, Jack Galloway; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Ricky Stevenson, McDaniels; sisters, Hortense Dugan, Hardinsburg, Odessa Dowell and Alena Powell, both of Louisville; a brother, Willard Haynes, Rockport; and three grandchildren, Michael, Casey and Tyler Stevenson, McDaniels. No funeral services were held. The body was cremated. Trent-Dowell Funeral Home handled arrangements.
