Cashman, Sr., 85-year-old resident of Webster, died Sunday, February 1, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hspital in Hardinsburg. Born in the Raymond Community of Breckinridge Countym, Mr. Cashman was a son of the late Henry Cashman and Lillie Avitt. He owned and operated the Cashman Leghorn Poultry Farm and was inducted into the American Poultry Federation Hall of Fame, was past president of Breckinridge County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church for 74 years, and was a graduate of Louisville Male High School. He was preceded in death by a foster son, William White, and a grandson, Mark Cashman. Surevivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Cashman; a daughter and son-in-law, Henrietta and Wayne Smith, Webster; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray, Jr. and Jean Cashman, Webster; a sister, Elnora Edmondson, Florida; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 4 at the Raymond Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Vetter officiating, and the Rev. Terry Settles assisting. Burial was in Rayhmond Cemetery with Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, in charge of arrangements. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 1998 WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1998 Coleman Dowell, Jr. 1935-1998 Coleman "Pin-hook" Dowell, Jr., aged 62, died Sunday, February 8, 1998 at his home in Hardinsburg. Born September 28, 1935 in Stephensport, Mr. Dowell was the son of Coleman Dowell, Sr. and Myrtle Mae Laslie. He was a farmer and a member of the Catholic faith. Mr. Dowell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Judy Wethington Dowell; four daughters, Charlotte Ann Brown and Helen Louise Brown, Stephensport; Annette Christine Walton, Bowling Green, and Doris Marie Berry, Utica; three sons, Kenneth Ray Dowell, Clifford Coleman Dowell, and Harold Eugene Dowell, all of Hardinsburg; two brothers, James Dowell and Frank Dowell, both of Hardinsburg; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 18 at St. Romuald Catholic Church, Hardinsburg, with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will be in St. Romuald Cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg. Mrs. Angie B. Berry 1913-1998 Mrs. Angie B. Berry, age 84, of Bloomington, IL, died Saturday, February 14, 1998, at her home. Born April 1, 1913 in Grayson County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Victor Fuller and Mattie Gross. She was a retired nurses aide and had worked in hospitals and nursing homes. Her husband, John M. Berry, preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Julia Harrison, Bloomington, IL; a son, Dale Berry, Clinton, IL; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 18 at Carmody-Flynn funeral Home in Bloomington, IL, with Chaplain Don Nester officiating. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1998 LARRY MATTINGLY, JR. 1978-1998 Larry Eugene "Bub" Mattingly, Jr., 19, of Hawesville, died Thursday, February 19, 1998 in Cloverport. He was born in Breckinridge County on November 28, 1978, the son of Larry Eugene Mattingly, Sr., Gainesville, FL, and Kathy Swihart, Pelahatchie, MS. He was employed at Davis Electric Company. Surviving other than his parents are a son, Andrew Caleb Mattingly, Cloverport; his girlfriend of two years, Amy Horsley, Cloverport; stepfather, Charles Swihart, Owensboro; a brother, Charles Swihart, Jr., Pelahatchie, MS; a sister, Tina McDaniels, Philpot; great-grandparents, Les and Ruby Blan of Hawesville, with whom he lived, and three stepbrothers. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 23, at East Fork Baptist Church in Ohio County with burial in the beatty Cemetery in Hancock County. RAYMOND BOARD 1902-1998 Raymond Board, 95-year-old resident of Muldraugh, formerly of the Hillgrove area in Meade County, died suddenly Monday, February 23, 1998, at Muldraugh. Born July 21, 1902 in Breck- inridge County, Mr. Board was a son of the late Jerome Board and Lee Meador. He was a farmer. His wife, Mrs. Alliene Board, preceded him in death in 1947, also a son and daughter, Charles "Buster" Board, and Viola Board Trent. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Elory, San Diego, CA, and Leona Reed, Muldraugh; a son, Gordon D. "Bucky" Board, Guston; a sister, Mary Stewart, Pulaski, TN; 17 grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. EST Thursday, february 26, 1998, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington with burial in the Buck Grove Cemetery in Meade County. MRS. LOREAN LIMER 1914-1998 Mrs. Lorean Phillips Limer, age 83, of Greenville, formerly of Cloverport, died Monday, february 23, 1998, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greensville, following a lengthy illness. Born May 24, 1914 in Breckinridge County, she was a daughter of the late James Bessie Bruce Fuqua. She was a homemaker and a member of the Blacklick Baptist Church. Survivors are two daughters, Wilma Richardson, Campbellsville, and Donna Simmons, Greenville; three sons, Denver Phillips and George Phillips, Fordsville, and Mike Phillips of Central City; four sisters, Mary Wells, Glen Dean, Sarah Landers, Marion, IN, Mildred Morris, Hardinsburg, Pari Dine Keller, New Lenox, IL; a brother, James Fuqua, Fairmount, IN; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 25 at Harl Funeral Home in Fordsville with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery. MRS. NANCY PEARL BULLARD 1914-1998 Mrs. Nancy Pearl Bullard, 83, of Louisville, died Thursday, February 12, 1998, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, following a lengthy illness. Born at Hardinsburg June 30, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Adam Louis Hubbard and Mary Jane Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Owen LeGrand in 1936, John L. Shaffer in 1957, and Elmer H. Bullard in 1996, and two daughters, Juanita LeGrand in 1933 and Elsie LeGrand Ross in 1989. Mrs. Bullard is survived by a step-daughter, Catharine Voyles, Louisville; four grandchildren, Wayne Ross, Donna Hudson and Joyce Ann Richards, all of Louisville, and Gala Jo Matteson, Tennessee; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert C. Hubbard, Muldraugh, and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 15 at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, Louisville, with the Rev. Dean Saunders officiating. Burial was in Horsley Chapel Cemetery in Breckinridge County. MRS. NANCY LOU FOSTER 1936-1998 Mrs. Nancy Lou Brown Foster, age 61, of Harned, formerly of New Albany, IN, died Friday, February 20, 1998 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. Born March 16, 1936 in Breckinridge County. Mrs. Foster was a daughter of Irene Brown of Harned, and the late John W. Brown. She was a housewife and a member of the Garfield Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Ronald Foster; a son, Todd Smith, New Albany, IN; three stepsons, Richard Foster, West Liberty, KY, James and Jeremy Foster, New Albany, IN; a step-daughter, Rhonda Hasty, Elizabeth, IN; two sisters, Sandra Stengell, Birmingham, AL, and Linda Nickerson, Indianapolis, IN, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 23 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in the Garfield Cemetery. BUELAH M. PAYNE 1904-1998 Buelah M. "Boots" Payne, age 93, of Louisville, died Thursday, February 19, 1998 at Parkway Medical Center in Louisville. She was born in Hancock County on May 22, 1904, a daughter of the late Henry Louis and Josephine Medkiff Payne. She was retired from Enro Shirt Factory as a supervisor, and a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Louisville. Survivors are sisters-in-law, Mary S. Payne, Hardinsbaurg, and Mary H. Payne, Salem, OR, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 21 at St. Mary of the Woods Church in McQuady with the Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial was in the St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg. REV. ELBERT H. CUNDIFF The Rev. Elbert H. Dundif, 84, of Cecilia, died Saturday, February 21, 1998, at his residence. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Howe Valley United Methodist Church. He was the first pastor of Yates Chapel Community Church in Hardin County, the former pastor of Calvert Church in Breckinridge County, Seltzer Creek Church in Hardin County, Old Hardin Springs Com- munity Church in Hardin County, Fair Farm in Hardin County, and former pastor of Stinnettsville Community Church in Breckinridge County. He was also a former bus driver for Hardin County schools for 17 years. Rev. Cundiff was preceded in death by a daughter, Opal Alene Clater, three sisters, Mattie Dupin, Elva Dupin, and Cleo Helm, and two brothers, Wilbur Cundiff and Harvey Cundiff. Survivors include his wife, Irene Goodman Cundiff; five sons, Darvin H. Cundiff, Harvey E. Cundiff, and Otis L. Cundiff, all of Cecilia, Marvin T. L. Cundiff of Louisville, and Roy E. Cundiff of East View; a daughter, Sue Smallwood of Elizabethtown, a sister, Lucy Helm, East View; a son-in-law, James Clater, Elizabethtown; 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grand- children. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Howe Valley United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Wolfe, Raymond Capps and Chris Patterson officiating.
