Dobbs, 70-year-old Hardinsburg resident, died Wednesday, February 25, 1998 at Pensacola, FL. Mr. Dobbs was born August 29, 1927 in Wayne County, Kentucky, a son of the late Luther and Grace Dobbs. He was the owner of Dobbs Seed & Grain, a member of the Hardinsburg United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ann t. Dobbs; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and David Spencer, Irvington; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jo Dobbs, Hardinsburg; four grandchildren, Nathan and Suzanne Dobbs, and Staci and Kristi Spencer; a sister, Delores Anderson, Mason, OH; and a brother, Gene Carson Dobbs, California, KY. Funeral Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1 at the Hardinsburg United Methodist Church with burial in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Hardinsburg. COLEMAN DOWELL, JR. 1935-1998 Coleman "Pin-hook" Dowell, Jr., age 62, died Sunday, February 15, 1998, at his home in Hardinsburg. Born September 28, 1935 in Stephensport, Mr. Dowell was the son of Coleman Dowell, Sr. and Myrtle Mae Laslie. He was a farmer and a member of the Catholic faith. Mr. Dowell is survived by his wife, Mrs. Judy Wethington Dowell; four daughters, Charlotte Ann Brown and Helen Louise Brown, Stephensport, Annette Christine Walton, Bowling Green, And Doris Marie Berry, Utica; three sons, Kenneth Ray Dowell, Clifford Coleman Dowell, and Harold Eugene Dowell, all of Hardinsburg; two brothers, James Dowell and Frank Dowell, both of Hardinsburg; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. ROBERT DAUGHERTY 1921-1998 Robert Daugherty, age 76, of Hardinsburg, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. Born October 29, 1921, in Breckinridge County, Mr. Daugherty was a son of the late Gwen and Leva Blair Daugherty. He was a farmer, a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, and a World Warr II Army veteran. His wife, Mrs. Hannah Daugherty, preceded him in death on January 12, 19998. Surviving are three daughters, Vivian Moad, Cloverport, Lois Finck, Hardinsburg, and Sheila Norton, Custer; a son Robert L. Daugherty, Hardinsburg; a sister, Kathleen Dorough, Dallas, TX; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tusday, March 3 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with burial in Ivy Hill Cemetery, also in Hardinsburg. JAMES D. ROACH 1922-1998 James D. Roach, age 75, died Wednesday, February 25, 1998, at his home in Hardinsburg. Born in Breckinridge County on April 24, 1922, Mr. Roach was a son of the late Thomas and Eva Basham Roach. He was a retired truck driver for Falls City Brewery and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth mercer Roach; a son, James L. Roach, Louisville; stepsons, Edward Fields, Palm Harbor, FL, Arlon and Paul Fields, Columbus, IN; stepdaughters, Virginia Baldwin, Hartsville, IN, Helen Norton, Bedford, IN; three grandchildren; 10 step- grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Roach, Jr., Mechanicsburg, IL. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at St. Romuald Catholic Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial was in St. Romuald Cemetery under the directon of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. MRS. EMMA LUCILLE BASHAM 1923-1998 Mrs. Emma Lucille Basham, age 74, of Hardinsburg, died Monday, March 2, 1998 at Mayfield, KY. Born in Breckinridge County on November 29, 1923, Mrs. Basham was a daughter of the late Franklin and Anna Martina Balou Howard. She was a housewife. Her husband, Sanford Basham, preceded her in death. Surviving are three sisters, Nettie Ziglar and Sally Woods, both of Hardinsburg, and Annie Zarate of Markem, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and afater 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. MR.S MARY JO HEITGERD 1927-1998 Mrs. Mry Jo Heitgerd, age 70, of Evansville, IN, died Monday, February 23, 1998 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born August 27, 1927, Mrs. Heitgerd was a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Flood Basham. She worked at L. Bermans/Zenith Electronics for 21 years, retired in 1993 from Hudson Valley Tree after six years of service, and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Surviving are a son, Philip Fischer, Evansville, IN; three sisters, Elizabeth Williams, Evansville, Lorene Koberstein, Princeton, IN, and Carroll Knight, St. Joe, IN; and four grandchildren, Jamie and shannon Martin, and Alex and Nicholas Fischer, all of Evansville. Mrs. Minter was a homemaker and a member of the Epiphony United Methodist Church of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Minter 1984, two sisters, Thelma Basham, Irvington and Wilma Chandler, Okeechobee, FL; three brothers, Alfred Allgood, Paul Allgood, Louisvlle, and David Allgood, Brandenburg. ELLIS TATE 1907-1998 Ellis Tate, age 90, of Stinnettsville, KY, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at the Medco Center in Hardinsburg, after a lengthy illness. Born September 1, 1907 in Stinnettsville, Mr. Tate was the son of the late James Tate and Roxy Anna Dennis. He was a farmer and attended Stin- nettsville Community Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Icie Nottingham Tate in 1981. Survivors are his wife Eva Doris Tate, Stinnettsville; one step-daughter, Darlene Bennett, Hardinsburg; one stepson, Louis Knott, Miami, FL; one sister, Aliene Stinnett, Medco Center of Hardinsburg. Also surviving are eight step-grandchildren, nine step-great- grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 20 at the Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. MATTIE THORNHILL 1906-1998 Mrs. Mattie Thornhill, age 92, of Harned, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. Born February 1, 1906 in Breckinridge County, Mrs. Thornhill was a daughter of the late Lon and Alice Anderson Aldridge. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Custer Unaited Methodist Church. Her husband, Lee Thornhill, preceded her in death. Survivors are two daughters, Juanita Sutton, Custer, and Ruth Tucker, Harned; a son, Roy Thornhill, Irvington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nora Alice Nottingham, Lillie Smith, Cora B. Lindsey, and Margaret Noble, all of Owensboro. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with the Rev. Johnny Craig officiating. DANA HACK DONNA MICHELLE HACK Dana Hack and Donna Michelle Hack, infant daughters of Mike and Melinda (Millie) Flood Hack, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. Surviving other than their parents are a brother, Justin Hack, Morgantown; maternal grand and great-grandparents, Philip and Sue Flood, Stephensport, Harold and Mary Flood, Hardinsburg, and Edna Roach, Cloverport; paternal grand and great-grandparents, Myrtle Hack of Union Star, Walter Hack, Jr., Caneyville, and Frank McCrary of Bonnieville.
