Born in Breckinridge County on April 8, 1923, he was the son of James Taylor and Julia Dowell Stinnett. He was retired from the Brandenburg Telephone company and a member of the Bewleyville United Methodist Church and World War II Army Veteran. Preceded in death by a son, Thomas Earl Stinnett. Survivors is his spoue, Pauline Neafus Stinnett, Irvington; one daughter, Alice Beauchamp, irvington; and one brother, James Franklin Stinnett, Garfield. Monroe Roosevelt Crouch, Jr. 1947-1998 Monroe Roosevelt Crouch, Jr., age 51 of Guston, died Monday, June 1, 1998 at his residence. Born on January 8, 1947 in Irvington, the son of the late Monroe Roosevelt Crouch, Sr., and Melvina Green. He was employed with Olin Corp in Brandenburg for 29 years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was preceded in death by a son, Terry. Survivors are one daughter, Lynn Crouch, Brandenburg; one son, Perry Crouch, New York State; four sisters, Irma Springer and Lucy Johnson of Louisville, Margaret Greenlee and Shirley Lawrence of Irvington; one brother, William Harry Crouch, Ekron; two grandsons, Jordan Crouch of New York and Alexander Crouch of Brandenburg, and a special friend, Kay Bowman, of Louisville. Funeral services were held Friday,June 5 at the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Young and Arthur King officiating. Burial was in the Irvington Cemetery. George W. Ball 1937-1998 George W. Ball, age 61, of Hardinsburg, died Friday, June 5 at his residence. Born in Breckinrdige County on June 4, 1937, he is the son of Nelson Jolly Ball. He was retired from Commonwealth Aluminum in 1997, a member of the Hites Run Baptist Church, Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge and a 1955 graduate of Breckinridge County High School. He was also retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. Preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Ball. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ball, Hardinsburg; one son, Richard Ball, Harned; one daughter, Sharon Williams, Louisville; his mother, Mary Opal Ball, Cloverport, one step-grandson and one step great-grandson. Also surviving are five brothers, Carl and James Ball, Hardinsburg, Robert and Don Ball, Hartford, Barry Ball, Cloverport. Funeral services wer eheld Sunday, June 7 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. Burial in the Cloverport Cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hites Run Baptist Church or Hospice of Central Kentucky. June 17, 1998 June 24, 1998 JOHNNIE C. RHODES 1919 - 1998 Johnnie C. Rhodes, age 79 of McDaniels died Thursday, June 18 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. Ms. Rhodes was born in Breckinridge County. She was a retired bookkeeper for Eleanor Beard Studio and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include one sister, Jane Carr, of McDaniels and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial in St. Anthony Cemeter in Axtel. Trent-Dowell Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. MARY CARWILE 1946-1998 Mary Carwile, age 52 of Celilia died suddenly Saturday, June 20 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. Born March 10, 1946 in Breckinridge County, daughter of the late Samuel Damon Goins and Lena Hopkins. She was a homemaker and attended the baptist church. Survivors include her husband, William Henry Carwile, Cecilia; two daughters, Amanda Sue Carwile, Louisville, Angela Marie Carwile, Cecilia; two sons, William Joseph Carwile, Big Spring, and Robert Paul Carwile of Flaherty; three step-children, Linda Greenwell, Karen Hardsaw, Donnie Carwile, all of Louisville; four sisters, Ruby Holman and Brenda Baker, of Irvington, Debbie Moon, Texas, Shirley Orr, Louisville; one brother, Howard Goins of Payneville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren. The funeral was held on Tuesday, June 23 at the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington. LINDA MARSHALL WENZEL 1943 - 1998 Linda Marshall Wenzel, age 55 of Louisville died Sunday, June 22 at Mt. Holly Nursing Home in Louisville. Born February 10, 1943 in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Junius and Emmaline Hall Marshall. Employed at the PNC Bank as a Data Entry Operator and a member Baptist faith. Survivors are one daughter, Victoria Wenzel, Louisville; one grandson, Marshall Wenzel, Louisville. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, June 24 at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Hardinsburg.
