FANNIE MARR 1911-1998 Mrs. Fannie Marr, age 86 of Brandenburg, died Monday, June 22, 1998 at Hardin Memorial Hospital at Elizabethtown. Born November 6, 1911 in Breckinridge County, she was the daughter of the late Sam Ammons, Jr. and Mary Whitworth. Mrs. Marr was retired from Quarter Master Laundry in Fort Knox, a member of the New Highland Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Marr. Survivors include one sister, Maggie Carwile, Cloverport; one brother, Joseph Ammons, Irvington, and several neices and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 25 at the Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington with the Rev. Jerry Shacklette officiating. Burial in the Marr Cemetery in Stinnettsville. Hodges 1938-1998 July 8, 1998 MRS. REGINA OELZE 1916-1998 Mrs. Regina Oelze, age 82, of Hardinsburg, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg. Born June 7, 1916 in Breckinridge County, Mrs. Oelze was a daughter of the late Paul and Minnie Lee Matthews Wethington. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, and Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima. Her husband, Cletus Oelze, preceded her in death February 10, 1991, also a son Sherman on June 24, 1984, a daughter Shirley on August 9, 1990, as well as two grandchildren. Survisors include sons, Paul Oelze, Charlestown, IN, Danny, John, Joe and David Oelze, all of Hardinsburg; daughters, Minnie Nimmo, Mary Vessels, Jamesetta Whitfill, Dorothy Huffines, all of Hardinsburg, Peggy Hazlewood, Falls of Rough, and Lettie VonAllman, Lanesville, IN; a brother, Maurice Wethington, Hawesville; 50 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8 at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg, with Fr. Terry Divine officiating. Burial was in St. Romuald Cemetery under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg. July 15, 1998 JOSIE LYNN DRANE 1995-1998 Josie Lynn Drane, age 2, of SeRee, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, following a lengthy illness. Josie was born in Grayson County, Kentucky on October 10, 1995, the daughter of Kevin Drane and Theresa Lucas. Survivors other than her parents are her grandparents, Joe and Gladys Drane, SeRee, and Audie and Brenda Lucas, Custer; great-grandparents, Mildred Fentress, SeRee, and Vester and Pearl Lucas, Custer; and great-great-grandmother, Hazel Aubrey, Hudson. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with burial in Custer Cemetery. MRS. RUBY SMILEY 1905-1998 Mrs. Ruby Smiley, age 93, of Hodgenville, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydn, IN. Born May 12, 1905, in Breckinridge County, Mrs. Smiley was a daughter of the late Samuel Allgood and Roxie Lucas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters, Irene Burress, Hodgenville, and Ann Eswin, New Salisbury, IN; two sons, Albert Smiley, Pleasure Ridge Park, and Ray Smiley, Sellersburg, IN; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with the Rev. Harry Dooley officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. MRS. GEORGIA NORTON 1919-1998 Mrs. Georgia Norton, age 79, of Hardinsburg, died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Breckinridge County, a daughter of the late Ben and Ethel Dowell. Mrs. Norton was a homemaker and a member of the Horsley Chapel United Methodist Church. A stepson, Harold Norton, and a step-grandchild, Randall Norton, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Elijah Norton of Hardinsburg; three stepdaughters, Geneive Meador, Guston, Nancy Mays, Webster, and Anna Lawson, Brandenburg; a stepson, Gilbert Norton, Custer; 13 step-grandchjildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grand- children. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in the Horsley Chapel Cemetery, Hardinsburg. Stinnett 1949-1998 John Carlton Stinnett, age 49, of Louisville, formerly of Hardinsburg, died Sunday, July 26, 1998, at his residence. Born May 1,1949 in Lou-isville, Mr. Stinnett was the son of Hubert Stinnett, Jr. of Hardinsburg, and the late Evelyn Eloise Brashear Stinnett. Survivors other than his father are daughters, Whitney Stinnett, Karla Stinnett and Regina Stinnett, all of Louisville; a sister, Joan Smiley, Hardinsburg; and brothers, Jim Stinnett, Louisville, and Joe Stinnett, Hardinsburg. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardins­burg. Visitation will be from 10a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Wilbur S. Haynes 1916-1998 Wilbur S. Haynes, age 82, died Monday, July 27,1998, at his home in Hardinsburg. Born in Breckin­ridge County, Mr. Haynes was a son of the late Arthur and Mollie McCubbins Haynes. He was a farmer and a member of the Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Haynes; a son. Earl Haynes, Harned; two daughters, Bobbie Preston, Ply­mouth, MA, and Ruth Ann Jolly, McQuady; a sister, Margaret Th­ompson, Louisville; six grandchil­dren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 at the Free­dom Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Freedom Cem­etery in Harned with Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, in charge of arrangements. Justin Thomas Carman 1998-1998 Justin Thomas Carman died Sun­day, July 19, 1998, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN. He was bom July 19,1998 at Harrison County, IN, the son of Jeffrey Todd Carman and Meryl Ann Sanders Carman. Surviving other than his parents are his grandparents, Gary and Joan Carman, Harned, Kay Carman, McQuady, Wilma Morris, Louis­ville, and William and Juanita Sand­ers, Nab, IN; great-grandparents. Louis and Anita Carman, Harned, and Dallas and Charlotte Taul, McQuady. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28 at Cave Spring Cemetery. Ralph G. Howard 1937-1998 Ralph G. Howard, age 61, of Hud­son, died Wednesday morning, July 22, 1998 at Hardin Memorial Hos­pital in Elizabethtown. Born June 8, 1937 in Breckinridge County, Mr. Howard was a son of Mrs. Beatrice Blair Howard, Hudson, and the late Jess Audra Howard. Surviving are his wife, Marsha Bailey Howard; two daughters, Devona Peace, Syracuse, IN, Kim-berly Joan Alvey, Cub Run; two step-daughters, Ramie Darlene Lucas, Constantine, and Jamie Mariene Dailey, Grove City, PA; two brothers, Jessie Dewayne Howard and Michael Howard, Le-itchfleld; four sisters, Ruedell McKenzie, Defuniak Springs, FL, Ann Guston, Acworth, GA, Linda Saltsman and Sheila Tomes, both Leitchfield; 10 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Watkins Funeral Home in Leitchfield with burial in Coyle Cemetery. Forrest Lee Campbell 1915-1998 Forrest Lee Campbell, age 82, of Cloverport, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Born September 7, 1915 in Cloverport, Mr. Campbell was a son of the late Lee Campbell and Leona Duke Campbell. He was retired from American Olean Tile Plant where he was a supply clerk, and as a member of the Cloverport Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.Melba Campbell; a daughter, Gail Hale, Cloverport; two stepsons, Charles D. Smith, Tell City, IN, and Jimmy Smith, Rt. 3, Hardinsburg; a sister, Nell Hall, Guthrie, KY; six grand­children; and three great- grandchil­dren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 at the Cloverport Baptist Church, with the Revs. Darryl Crenshaw and Ira Joe Weatherford officiating. Private . graveside memorial services will be held at a later date. Pallbearers were Loyd Powers, Charles Harpe, Jim Brown, Norman Brown, Tom Catron and Eddie Owen Perkins. Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport was in charge of arrangements.
