Finley 1919-1998 Mrs. Margaret Patterson 1911-1998 James E. Kiper 1946-1998 James E. Kiper, 51-year-old Harned resident, died Saturday, August 1, 1998, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born December 8, 1946 in Breckinridge County, Mr. Kiper was the son of the late Cecil and Florence Anthony Kiper. He was a 1966 graduate of Breckinridge County High School and was employed with Crumax, Elizabethtown. Surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Rold, Irvington, Regina Kiper, Louisville, Susie Koetter, Floyd Knobs, IN, and Nancy Jolly, Harned; two brothers, Claude Kiper and Donnie Kiper, both of Harned; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 5 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with the Rev. David Little officiating. Burial was in Kingswood Cemetery. August 12, 1998 August 19, 1998 KENNETH A. BENNETT 1945-1998 Kenneth A. Bennett, age 52, of Irvington, died Saturday, August 15, 1998, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. Born in Jefferson County, December 2, 1945, a son of Mrs. Anna B. Adams Bennett, Irvington, and the late Melvin Bennett. He was employed by Big Rivers Electric and was a graduate of Irvington High School. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lida Mae Bennett; three sons Michael Adams Bennett, Mark Fentress Bennett and Jeffrey Kyle Bennett, all of Irvington; a sister, Barbara Ann Clater, Cecilia; and one grandson, Ryan Adams Bennett, Irvington. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuseday, August 18 at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with the REv. Chuck Ellis, pastor of the Garfield Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Hensley Cemetery. MRS. LULA JANE BOWER 1910-1998 Mrs. Lula Jane Bower, age 88, of Big Spring, died Monday, August 17, 1998, at Medco Center of Brandenburg. She was a member of the Big Spring Baptist Church. Her husband, Clinton J. Bower, Sr., preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Clinton J. Bower, Jr., Big Spring; a sister, Nell Bevins, Horse Cave; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Nelson-Edelin=Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove, with the Rev. John Vaught officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Louisville. August 26, 1998 RICHARD HEMBREY 1921-1998 Richard Hembrey, age 77 of Guston died suddenly Tuesday, August 18 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. Born March 2, 1921 in Arkansas, the son of the late Charles W. Hembrey and Ethel Williams. He was a retired car salesman in Louisville, World War II Navy veteran, a member of disabled American Veterans, Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Optimist Club - Shively, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Wilson Hembrey of Guston; two sons, Dicky Hembrey of Ekron, Charles W. Hembrey, Irvington; one sister, Sunshine Freer, Arkansas; two brothers, Rupert and Paul Hembrey of Arkansas, nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services took place Friday, August 21 at the chapel of the Alexandria Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Robinson, pastor of the Irvington Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington. Pall bearers were J. Morgan Hembrey, Tyler Hembrey, Josh Barger, Jason Haynes, Eddie McAfee, Jr., Bill Monin. EDNA ANN THOMPSON GORE 1912-1998 Edna Ann Thompson Gore, age 86 of Louisville, formerly of Cloverport died Tuesday, August 18 at St. Matthews Manor in Louisville. Born January 10, 1912 in Cloverport, daughter of the late Clarence Thompson and Kate Lunsford Thompson. Preceded in death by her first husband, Marion Clemens and by her second husband, Murl J. Gore. She was a member of the Cloverport Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Patty Miller of Cinncinati, OH; one grandson, Wayne Joshua Miller, New York, NY. Graveside services were held at the Cloverport Cemetery with the Brother Darryl Crenshaw officiating. Burial in the Cloverport Cemetery.
