OBITUARY   Mrs. Ruth Allen  1919-2000
     Mrs. Ruth Ryan Wallis Allen, age 81, of Hardinsburg, died Sunday, February 
20, 2000, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Nursing Facility.  Born in Trigg 
County, Ky., on February 11, 1919, Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Martin 
Clay Wallis and Gertrude Smith Ryan.  She is retired from the Breckinridge County 
School System as a teacher, and was a member of the Hardinsburg Baptist Church.  
Her husband, O. J. Allen, preceded her in death, also a son, Phil Allen.
Survivors include:
two daughters and sons-in-law
a daughter-in-law
10 grandchildren
4 great grandchildren
one sister
     Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 22 at Trent-Dowell Funeral 
Home, Hardinsburg, with the Reverend Jake Huffman, officiating.  Burial was in 
the Kingswood Cemetery.
