Linda was born on September 14, 1948 in Bell county Texas to the late Raymond Hicks and ODell Bennight Hicks. On August 1st, 1963 she married a soldier boy named Ronnie, the love of her life and moved to Guston, Kentucky. Linda worked many different jobs throughout her lifetime including the Meade County Lunchroom cafeteria, the PX at Fort Knox, Walmart Pharmacy in Texas and Caesars Horseshoe Casino in Indiana She was an active member of Patteson Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she served as Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, elder, secretary, treasurer and janitor. Linda dearly loved bluegrass and country music and had a deep appreciation of the soil and loved her flowers which she tended to 15 hours before she passed. She loved traveling and shopping and especially going out to eat. And she loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Denise Allen Greer, two brother-in-laws Frank Newton & Ben Newton, and a sister in law Glenda Hicks. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father in law, Frank & Minnie Allen whom she loved very much. Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years Ronnie Allen Sr, of Irvington. A son Ronnie Allen Jr, of Guston. 4 grandsons Chad Allen of Radcliff, Dallas, & Duke Allen of Guston and Matthew Greer of Alabama. 1 granddaughter Amanda Hicks of Alabama A daughter in law Angie Allen of Guston a granddaughter in law Erica and newly born great granddaughter, Ella Greer of Alabama Son in law Jerry Greer of Alabama Three brothers Jimmy, Billy Ray and Johnny Ray Hicks of Texas, four sister in laws Almeda Newton and Libby Toney of Guston, Barbara Brown of Irvington and Sheryln Hicks of Texas. Two brother in laws, Teddy Brown of Irvington and Kirjath D. Toney of Guston. Nieces and nephews also survive. And a very special companion, her dog Della May. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 2nd at 12 noon EDT in the sanctuary of the Patteson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Guston Kentucky. Friends may call from 4 till 9 PM EDT on Tuesday September 1st at the Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington and after 10am on Wednesday at the church.
