OSCAR ALLEN Just one week after the deaths of his father and mother, which occurred on the 20th of January, Oscar ALLEN died on Sunday, January 27, 1929 at his home at Tar Springs following an illness of near 8 days of pneumonia. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred ALLEN whose double funeral was held at the Cloverport Methodist Church on Sunday, January 20, 1929. Mr. Oscar ALLEN was born in Breckinridge County on September 5, 1900. On February 22, 1920, he married Miss Marie LIVELY, who with four children survive. Children: Margaret ALLEN Thomas ALLEN Elmer ALLEN Dorothy ALLEN He is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Mace ROBINSON Mrs. Baker CARWILE Mrs. Eugene DENHAM A brief funeral service was conducted at the Cloverport Cemetery on Monday afternoon, January 28, 1929, by the Reverend O. T. Nichols, Pastor of the Cloverport Methodist Church. On account of illness in the home, his wife nor children were able to attend the burial service.
