Mrs. ALSOP was the youngest daughter of the Reverend B. E. COSBY, origionally of Richmond, Virginia, and Adeline HOWARD COSBY, a native of Utica, Ky (Daviess County). Mrs. ALSOP was born in Newtonville, Indiana (Spencer County). After the death of her father, she, her mother, and her three sisters lived with her grandfather, Mr. John HOWARD, until she married Mr. Allen L. ALSOP of Valley Station of Jefferson County. Mr and Mrs. ALSOP lived in Louisville until 1952. Except for a 5-year interview from 1923 to 1928 in which they lived in Elizabethtown, Ky (Hardin County). After Mr. ALSOP retired from the P. Lorillard Tobacco Company, they moved to Irvington in 1952. Besides her husband, she is survived by: one daughter: Mrs. Florence Brown of Irvington, Ky one grandson: Alan BROWN one great grandson: Tomm Brown of Elizabethtown, Ky one sister: Mrs. A. N. COTTRELL of Los Angeles, California (Los Angeles County) one brother-in-law: Mr. Raymond CURTIS of Paw, Indiana (I could not find this town in Indiana). several nieces and nephews Mrs. ALSOP was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 16, 1961 from the Alexander Funeral Home of Irvington, Ky., and burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
