He was born in Big Spring, Ky on April 7, 1944, the son of the late Joe & Zola AMMOMS. Joe was a retired employee of Norfleet Farms, Dobbs Seed and Grain, and Breckinridge County Detention Center. He had many interests that include drag racing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and raising a garden which had no weeds. He was a wonderful singer; he loved country music; he loved to aggravate, talk, and never met a stranger. His family meant everything to him. Joe's children said, "their life with him and mother was rich with love". Joe and Margie attended Black Lick Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James AMMONS. He is survived by: his wife, Margie STURGEON AMMONS of McQuady, Ky one daughter two sons 8 grandchildren; one great grandchild one sister Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, on Friday, June 29, 2018, with burial in Black Lick Cemetery.
